Life in Kuala Lumpur has always been hectic, especially our well known traffic jam. This September, is probably one of the worst months of the year, where all the weekends are tied up with public holidays.
Other than that, it's also my mom's birthday month. I also have a company trip that falls on one of the weekend. Followed by my almost 2 decades wedding anniversary, I will have to schedule to visit my mom first before any of that hit me.
Just before we join the great escape convoy, home minister called me saying the wiper doesn't work anymore. So, we sent the car to the workshop for a quick diagnostic. We certainly not wanting to take any chance. Imagined being stranded at the express way with a broken wiper, in a rain?
You see, we just couldn't brain how can someone design such a component, the wiper arm was connected to the actuator motor via a piece of plastic bolt. I mean come on Proton! You're making Malaysian car to stand Malaysian weather since 1985, how can you make a plastic joint for a local car? According to the mechanic, it is inevitable as things are designed to failed nowadays.
After setting me back 250 bux, here comes the new wiper arm module(ex wiper motor). I think for such a piece of aluminium rack, 250 is a little overpriced. But hey, what else is cheap nowadays(except people's life, I think one can order an assassination for 50 bux).
The new rack also came with plastic joints. So yeah, if I get lucky, who knows this should last another 15 years right?
We decided to NOT take the chance this time. I usually started driving like 3am in the morning, but I just don't feel safe anymore with the car getting less reliable nowadays. Besides, my eye sight is also getting weaker as I'm getting older.
We woke up by 4, started driving by 5, and arrived by 7. It was kinda smooth this time around, probably one of the faster arrival in most recent 10 years. I think the holiday goer either started their great escape the night before, or they don't give a damn on the first day.
Took my favourite curry noodles with roasted pork belly. With this kinda good food around, I don't think I will be able to loose weight, period.
Phoon is a sur name. The Phoon family is our family friend. I have photo of Madam Phoon came to visit our new house, whilst she carry the 2 years old toddler me 🤣
Phoon has been running successful coffee shop businesses for many years, and lately change to cafe style business. Food is great, people won't mind to pay more for a cozy environment. Mom enjoying her fried rice very much.
My small kid is not small anymore. This year, this boy suddenly gain momentum and outgrown the barn door. How I wish I can turn back time and have a small boy over my lap.
I got myself a pork chop with fried rice. I must say, it's a blessing to be able to eat pork chop in Malaysia. Pigs are getting way more expensive, and many eatery started to obtain Halal (pork free for Muslims ) status.
After dinner, I took the big girl out, stroll down to the night market where I used to sell pirated VCD and VHS tapes. Things has changed so much.
