When people hear Korea, their mind goes to Seoul. But me, my heart goes to Busan. Maybe because of the movie Train to Busan which I watch some years ago. That movie show how busy and beautiful the city is, even when the story itself was about danger and survival. Ever since then, I always imagine what it will feel like to visit Busan with my own eyes.
The first place I will like to see is Gamcheon Culture Village. I saw it in pictures online and it look like a rainbow city. The houses are painted in bright colors, narrow street with arts everywhere it surprises me and it feels like a place full of stories. Walking there I believe will make me forget stress because it is so alive.
Another place is Jagalchi Fish Market. I like seafood and I heard this is the biggest fish market in Korea. I imagine myself walking through the stalls, smelling the ocean, hearing the sellers shout to invite customers, and then sitting down to eat fresh grilled fish. Simple joy but will something unforgettable.
In Train to Busan the railway station of Busan is shown, and that alone is also a landmark. But if I go there, I will not just stop at the station. I will visit Taejongdae Resort Park, a natural park with cliffs, trees and ocean view. Just standing there and looking down to the wide sea, I think it will give me peace of mind and hope that my dream comes true.
For culture, I also want to see Beomeosa Temple, one of the oldest temples in Korea. Unlike the modern city, it gives a picture of the old days and traditions that still survive in the Korean history I believe sitting there quietly can make the heart calm.
Busan, it is a city where culture, food, history and nature all come together. One day, I hope to step down there, not inside a movie scene but as a real traveler ready to explore.
