When I look back at my life so far, I just wanna thank God, and one thing stands out talent alone is never enough. I grew up loving sports with all my heart. Football was my first passion, the kind that keeps you awake at night imagining scoring the winning goal. Then I found basketball, and it became just as dear to me. I was blessed enough to play for my school teams in both sports.
But here’s the reality I only played at that level. Not because I didn’t dream bigger, but because the environment I grew up in made it extremely difficult to move forward. In Nigeria, many young, talented people fight daily battles just to get opportunities. We often hear stories of gifted individuals who never reached their peak simply because the system wasn’t built to support their journey. That's mostly the challenges for young talent.
Over time, I learned a very important truth: your potential isn’t limited to one area of life. If one door is blocked, it’s possible to build another door. That’s why I started looking beyond sports and into other skills I could grow.
Joining the Hive community reminded me of this lesson. On Hive, everyone has a talent maybe it’s writing, photography, art, coding, or storytelling. But talent here is like raw gold. If you leave it unpolished, it remains hidden. To truly benefit from Hive, you need to show up, share consistently, engage with others, and keep improving.
For newbies, this is my advice:

Discover your unique voice Don’t try to copy everyone. Share your personal experiences, knowledge, and perspective and take it very important.

Be consistent Just like in sports training, progress comes from regular effort. Posting once a month won’t take you far and won't increase your knowledge

Engage with others Hive is not just a stage where you perform; it’s a team where every player matters. Read, comment, and appreciate other people’s work.

Be patient In sports, skill takes time to develop. On Hive, trust is built over time, and your rewards grow with your reputation.
I may never get the chance to play football or basketball professionally, but I’m learning to use my potential in new ways. Hive has shown me that the field is bigger than I thought and everyone can score, as long as they keep playing. You too you are a player let's keep playing to achieve our goals and dreams.
