Today I went and explored Miltonrigg Wood near Brampton off the A69 in Cumbria. The Wood is managed by the Woodland Trust and is a very old woodland which is dominated by ancient trees mainly of oak and birch. This will make a lovely autumn woodland as these types of trees are very colourful at autumn. Today tho was very wet and the area is forecast lots more rain but is one I will revisit.

4th October 2022 _Wood Sorrel _Miltonrigg wood _01.jpeg Found this lovely little plant which I recognized from my trip to Scotland earlier this year. This is Wood-sorrel which has little white flowers in spring.

This wood is also good for fungi. I found lots of this bright red Fly Agaric. The one at the top was huge, as it was bigger than my hand. As well as these red ones the was some of these yellow ones (name unknown)

Hope you enjoyed my post and I will revisit this reserve, hopefully on a less wet day.

See you then with more pictures of woodland and hopefully some wildlife next time too
