Visitando la iglesia San Miguel Arcángel// Guanaguana/ Estado Monagas// (Esp/ Eng )

Saludos amigos, estuve en Maturín durante unos días y al regresar a mi ciudad, Cumaná, me llevé una grata sorpresa porque vi que la iglesia San Miguel Arcángel tenía sus puertas abiertas. Generalmente, cuando pasaba por ese lugar, siempre estaba cerrada, seguramente por la hora del día. Sin embargo, esta vez, al pasar más temprano, la encontré abierta. Entonces, le pedí a mi esposo que hiciera una parada, y me bajé para entrar y aprovechar para tomar algunas fotografías. Esta iglesia es conocida como la famosa iglesia de piedra, se encuentra en Guanaguana, en el estado Monagas, y es el segundo templo más antiguo. Así lo comentaron las chicas de turismo que estaban allí presentes; aunque aún mantiene su fachada, el interior, especialmente el techo, fue renovado en 1988, ya que este templo fue edificado en el siglo XVIII y está dedicado a San Miguel Arcángel. Fue construido por frailes misioneros entre 1777 y 1780. Al ingresar, noté que solo hay unas pocas imágenes religiosas: solo un Cristo en el altar, tres vírgenes, un nazareno y la figura de San Miguel Arcángel son los santos que se encuentran en su interior. Esta iglesia atrae a muchos turistas, ya que es muy popular debido a sus ruinas. En lo personal, me agrada mucho ir a esta iglesia, y cada vez que paso por aquí y tengo la oportunidad de entrar, lo hago, ya que hay un ambiente de paz y serenidad. Además, valoro y disfruto de estas edificaciones antiguas porque poseen una gran cantidad de historia y un toque de misterio relacionado con existencias pasadas. Sin duda, cada templo en cada localidad contribuye a comprender la evolución histórica que hemos experimentado como país. Espero que disfruten de esta publicación y cuando tengan tiempo visiten esta hermosa iglesia.
