I was reading the news and a story about smartphone usage limits has showed up in a few places. It's a ridiculous idea, that Toyoake sits in Aichi Prefecture will restrict all city residents to just two hours of smartphone time per day. Not only that, but they seem to want to include gaming on tablets and PCs into the mix. The proposal won't just apply to kids, but even adults.
Besides the obvious nanny state problems here, there are simple logic problems with the proposed ordinance. For example, watching YouTube would contribute to the two-hour daily limit, but watching regular TV wouldn't. Clearly whoever wrote this proposal is a Boomer who thinks anything they grew up with is ok, but anything their kids are growing up with is bad.
An all around crazy idea that will never pass. I mean, I also worry about my kids using screens too much, but this ordinance proposal goes way too far.

But anyway, reading this story got me wondering about average smartphone usage of Hive members. I thought we'd take a poll about this.
My own usage is an alarming 6 hours. I would have claimed lower, but the iPhone records tell a different story. In fairness to me, I use my phone quite often in my classes to play audio for exercises or in my one-on-one classes to show videos. That probably accounts for most of that 6 hours. Regardless, that's still a crazy high amount.
How about all of you? Vote in the poll if you can see it (on Peakd) or just leave a comment with your answer.
