Yesterday was another super busy day. It was long, but so rewarding.
We had breakfast, then set out for Kamakura. We spent a couple hours at the Hase Temple, then a little bit of time at the Daibutsu. We wandered around for a little bit afterwards, then made it away back. We stopped at Engakuji Temple for my friend to pay respects at the memorial for Gichin Funakoshi, the founder of Shotokan Karate. That was the entire point of this trip for him, and he was overjoyed at the prospect.
We split off for dinner, and I went to Sukiya for dinner. I ordered a beef bowl, which came with an egg. I cracked open the bottom, only to realize it's not a softboiled egg, it's a raw egg! So I carefully poured it into the beef. The older guy next to me looked at me kinda quizzically, and I said, "ゆで卵と思います。違います。"
We both shared a laugh after that. I went back to my room, packed up my luggage, and went to bed.
