How to make spinach bobor, a practical dish that is delicious and nutritious

Bored with spinach dishes that are always cooked in a clear sauce, how about spinach cooked in coconut milk sauce? It will definitely taste savory. Yes, that's the dish I want to cook today. Spinach dish with coconut milk sauce or what is called bobor bayam. In my area, this dish is called kuah lemak. But usually for kuah lemak, the spices used are ground and usually the sauce is yellow. While the spices for bobor are very simple, no need to grind, just roughly chop and the sauce is white. Actually, this is a simple recipe given to me by my mother, she also taught me how to make cassava leaf bobor, the spices used are exactly the same and the taste is also delicious.

Did you know, there are several ingredients that are often mixed in this bobor bayam such as sweet corn, baby corn, tempeh, chayote and several other ingredients. But this time I did not use other mixed ingredients, but only used spinach. Let's see the following appetizing bobor bayam recipe.




Ingredients needed:

  • 2 bunches of spinach
  • 1/2 coconut (for coconut milk)
  • 5 red chilies
  • 3 cloves of shallots
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 pieces of turmeric (crushed)
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 stalk of lemongrass
  • 1/2 tsp salt



How to make:


First, cut the spinach. Wash thoroughly. Set aside. Prepare the chopped spices. Cut the red chilies. Then chop the shallots quite thickly, as well as the garlic. Next, crush the turmeric.

Prepare the coconut milk. Cook the coconut milk first with all the chopped spices, namely, red chili, shallot, garlic, turmeric, lemongrass. Cook until boiling, stirring occasionally so that the coconut milk does not split. Then add the spinach, stir well. Let it boil, add salt. Taste the taste. Remove and serve in a serving bowl.
