Sometimes I look around and I wonder when we became so quick to keep blaming genetics for our failures and all that. I'm just not built for this. I'm not just tall enough. I'm not also good enough to be part of my family.
But I've come to learn some lesson that it's not about your genetics. I used to say these things too it's way more of an excuse it allowed me to just stay where. I was without feeling guilty or feeling converted for the life that I'm living now but then one day something hit me
I'm standing on the shoulders of people and parents and others who refuse to quit people who had every reason to give up yet. Somehow they keep pushing through my great grandparents. My parents didn't survive hunger, more sickness, hardship just for me to give up and blame my genetics for not trying they didn't use vehicles, they didn't go for hunting went for fishing fighting battles to protect their just so that I could live to talk down on myself.
All this will feel so disrespectful to them and to myself. When I think about so many life excuses very small they didn't have that motivational quotes self-help books or podcast telling them to keep puzzling, they had survivor instincts and that's what was push them to keep moving.
They had their grades. They had faith. They all had hope and somehow they made it far enough to greater heights to where they could achieve. When I felt like quitting I have to remind myself, it's not about genetics alone, although it is very important but I can never allow you to not decide my future and I was willing to change my story.
Your ancestors fought so hard for you to believe you are just powerless. You are the result of generation. The blood runs through you. Not just that your DNA, not just your genetics, their stubbornness, their hunger or everything are your blood. You have to keep pushing. Don't waste your shots that you are giving. Don't let that excuse win. Don't let that come for steal what your effort has built over time.
You may not control where you are now but you can control where you go from here. And who knows something important might happen in the future. Someone will look back to you and say my life is easier because you are the asset that didn't give up. That is life for you.
