Hello hive
Greetings to you all on this beautiful day, I hope you all are doing great just as I am doing here, happy new month to all and I hope you are having fun out there as well. I will be sharing with you today in this great community @diyhub the making of this Shirt gown.
I have this vintage material at home for a while and I thought of what to sew with it so I come up with shirt gown it will look nice with the fabric and also this will be the first shirt gown I'll be having to myself
let's get started with the processing quick and easy to go
I folded the fabric into four because I will be cutting the sleeve together with the main clothes so at the edge of my folding part I left 3inches for my button down that part will serve as front block.
start with the shoulder plus the sleeve allowance then I come down by 1.5inches for my shoulder slope connect it together for the neck I use 2.5 width and depth 2.5 and for the back 2.5 by 1inches from the shoulder slope I measured 10inches down that will be bust line and from shoulder I measure my half length, hip and full length and input the measurements and I add 3inches for each for Easy and seem allowance and I cut out
take it to the sewing machine Sewn the shoulder for the front and back together and I and I fold in the button side, for the sleeve I cut out 3inches of satin fabric and attach it to the sleeve's side after that I I shape the side of the dress
the shirt gown has a bishop collar for the collar neck before cutting it out I measure the round neck of dress and now I proceed. I make use of dull face satin black I don't really like when the neck area is too opened so I make use of 15.5inches then wideness of 4inches unfold.
I ironed interfacing on it before attaching it to the main cloth.
