“Teaching is not just a job. It is a human service, and it must be thought of as a mission.”- Dr. Ralph Tyler

Every year we celebrate World Teachers Day around the world. This is to recognize teachers' hard work, dedication, and commitment to providing and empowering our learners with all the necessary skills and wisdom they could use for survival and day-to-day living. As part of the celebration, our school celebrated Teachers Day last October 3, 2023. The SSLG and SPTA initiated the activity. It was done from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
**The Celebration**
The event started with a parade of our stunning and graceful dancers and drummers from the school's DLC together with the amiable teachers both elementary and secondary. After the parade was the program proper. Before the opening was the grand entrance of the teachers which was guarded by the taekwondo and arnis players of the school. This highlights how our learners give value and honored to their teachers. After which, was the giving of tribute to teachers where learners from different sections were given the chance to read and hand in their messages of gratitude to their teachers. Other learners offered gifts, letters, and flowers while songbirds of their class were serenading. Teachers felt happy and valued upon receiving their gifts in any form. It does not matter how big or small it is but the true meaning of giving is much appreciated. We felt loved and cared for by our learners with the elements of the surprises we experienced.

After the tribute was the ZUMBALECIOUS dance contest. It was a fun-filled and exciting activity. Our sleepy muscle was awakened as we stretched and performed the Zumba with all our strength and power. We executed it well not because it was a contest but because of the tantalizing energy of the instructor who motivated us. The ZUMBA instructor showed us the steps properly. Therefore the zumba was perfectly done.

The Zumba performance made us feel hungry and empty. But we never got worried since the SPTA prepared us a sumptuous meal. We all satisfied our craving with the crispy lechon and several dishes served like chicken cordon blue, breaded shrimp, chicken ***afritada***, and special bam-e. The supportive parents also served us desserts like ***budbod*** and special Maja. It was mouthwatering meals prepared. We all enjoyed our meals and had a delightful lunch.

After lunch, the teachers played basketball and volleyball. There were two teams organized. One for elementary and one for secondary. After the 2 games, laro ng lahi was played. There was a sack race, paper relay, and flour relay. We enjoyed and had fun with the different games played.

After the different games was the awarding of winners of the different contests and games. Teachers were also given various recognition and awards in recognition of their valuable service, performances, and dedication as teachers in various fields. Teachers proudly and happily received their awards. Their hard work and sacrifices were recognized and valued. It was just a piece of paper but the meaning of it is priceless. We are thankful to SPTA, SSLG, and our school heads for initiating the activity. It was very successful and meaningful to us teachers.

Aside from the program and surprises from SPTA and SSLG, my class advisory surprised me in our classroom too. They covered my eyes and welcomed me with party poppers. As I entered the room, I was amazed by the decorations in our classroom. I know they shared their money, time, and efforts just to surprise me. They also handed me their letters and gifts. I'm thankful to them for their efforts. Even if it was simple they touched my heart. So to show my love and care for them, I offered them snacks too. From the surprises, and gifts in any form, I realized that I'm lucky that I am a teacher. Thus, I will do my best to provide what is best for my learners.

Happy Teachers Day! to all Teachers in this community. God bless and Mabuhay.
