Dear Hivers friends,
Last July 31st, I attended the **wedding of two dear friends**, and it was a truly beautiful day. I'd like to share **some photos** of the event with you.
They had been engaged for several years, and the time had finally come to take this big step!

Cari amici Hivers,
Lo scorso 31 luglio ho partecipato al **matrimonio di due cari amici** ed è stata una giornata davvero bella. Vorrei condividere con voi **qualche foto** dell’evento.
Erano fidanzati da diversi anni e finalmente è arrivato il momento di fare questo grande passo!
The wedding took place in **Salento**, the southernmost part of the Puglia region in southern Italy. It's a place steeped in history, with one of the most beautiful seas in Italy: some areas are known as "**The Maldives of Italy**" for their fine, golden sand beaches and crystal-clear water.
Il matrimonio si è celebrato in **Salento**, la parte più a sud della regione Puglia, al sud Italia. Si tratta di un luogo ricco di storia, con uno dei mari più belli d’Italia: alcune zone vengono definite “**Le Maldive d’Italia**” per le spiagge di sabbia fine e dorata e l’acqua cristallina.

The wedding began with the celebration in the **church**, and then all the guests moved to the reception venue, a **beautiful restaurant surrounded by olive trees**.
Upon the bride and groom's arrival, **dancing and a rich appetizer buffet began**. Food is good throughout Italy, but you should know that southern Italy is especially renowned for its **seafood dishes**!
Il matrimonio è cominciato con la celebrazione in **chiesa** e poi tutti gli invitati si sono spostati nella location del ricevimento, un **ristorante molto bello circondato da piante di olivo**.
All’arrivo degli sposi, **si sono aperte le danze e il ricco buffet degli antipasti**. In tutta Italia si mangia bene, ma dovete sapere che il sud Italia è rinomato soprattutto per i **piatti di pesce**!

The party continued inside a room where the first courses were served, the newlyweds gave gifts to the guests, and **everyone danced to some popular songs** like "pizzica."
After a few hours, the **most romantic moment** arrived: the cutting of the wedding cake, followed by the dessert buffet.
La festa è continuata all’interno di una sala dove sono stati serviti i primi piatti, gli sposi hanno consegnato i regali agli invitati e **tutti hanno ballato alcune canzoni popolari** come la “pizzica”.
Dopo qualche ora, è arrivato il **momento più romantico**: il taglio della torta nuziale, con al seguito il buffet dei dolci.

One thing I learned is that in Salento, there's never enough food and dancing! The people are decidedly smiling, cheerful, and love food. **It was a fantastic experience**! Thanks for reading.
