Every year during the summer, a special weekend takes place in my region: the **Notte Rosa** (Pink Night). It's a weekend where all the municipalities organize events to showcase the area. The pink color refers to the fact that **many cities adorn themselves** in this color: shop windows, flowers, food, clothing, etc.
For the Notte Rosa 2025, we decided to take a **guided tour of the Rocca di Verucchio**, located in the province of **Rimini**. It was a truly special experience, as we were able to visit this beautiful castle **illuminated by the moonlight**.

Ogni anno, durante l’estate, nella mia regione si svolge un weekend particolare: la **Notte Rosa**. Si tratta di un fine settimana dove tutti i comuni organizzano degli eventi per far conoscere il territorio. Il rosa fa riferimento al fatto che **numerose città si addobbano** di questo colore: vetrine, fiori, cibo, vestiti, …
Per la Notte Rosa 2025, abbiamo deciso di partecipare a una **visita guidata della Rocca di Verucchio**, che si trova in provincia di **Rimini**. È stata un’esperienza davvero particolare, perché è stato possibile visitare questo bellissimo castello **illuminati dal bagliore della luna**.
We met at 8:30 pm for a **candlelit dinner in the Rocca's beautiful garden**. Each couple had a table overlooking the **Romagna hills**. Truly enchanting.
They gave us a **basket** containing raw vegetables with dips, an omelette, delicious cheeses such as pecorino with truffles, a dessert, and, of course... **piadina**, the typical local dish!
Il ritrovo era alle 20:30, per una **cena a lume di candela nel bellissimo giardino della Rocca**. Ogni coppia aveva a disposizione un tavolino con vista sui **colli romagnoli**. Davvero incantevole.
Ci hanno consegnato un **cestino** contenente un cruditè di verdure a pinzimonio, una frittata, dei formaggi buonissimi come il pecorino al tartufo, un dolce e, ovviamente… la **piadina**, il piatto tipico della zona!
After dinner, each participant was armed with a **candle** to set off to explore the beautiful Malatesta Fortress.
The first written references to this building date back to **1449** and refer to one of the most important members of the family, **Sigismondo Malatesta**.
The castle's location was strategic because it afforded a wide panorama of both the **Adriatic Sea** and the **Apennines**.
Al termine della cena, ogni partecipante è stato armato di una **candela**, per partire alla scoperta della bellissima Rocca Malatestiana.
I primi testi che parlano di questo edificio sono del **1449** e fanno riferimento a uno dei personaggi più importanti della famiglia, **Sigismondo Malatesta**.
La posizione di questo castello era strategica perché consentiva di avere un ampio panorama sia sul versante del **Mar Adriatico**, sia sull’**Appennino**.

This fortress is also called "**Rocca del Sasso**" (Fortress of the Rock) due to its location atop a rocky spur. It’s perfectly preserved and contains several **secret passages**.
Over the centuries, it has had numerous owners: the Malatesta family, the Republic of Venice, the Medici family, and so on.
At the end of the tour, we returned to the gardens to watch the **fireworks** display over the Riviera Romagnola **at midnight**.
**This experience was truly fascinating, especially for the magical atmosphere of the night**.

Questa Rocca è chiamata anche “**Rocca del Sasso**”, a causa della sua posizione sull’apice di uno sperone di roccia. È perfettamente conservata e custodisce all’interno alcuni **passaggi segreti**.
Nel corso dei secoli, si sono susseguiti numerosi proprietari: i Malatesta, la Repubblica di Venezia, i Medici, …
Al termine della visita, siamo tornati nei giardini per osservare lo spettacolo dei **fuori d’artificio** sulla Riviera Romagnola **a mezzanotte**.
**Questa esperienza è stata veramente interessante, soprattutto per l’atmosfera magica della notte**.
