Le **pietre** e le **gemme** mi hanno sempre affascinato perché posseggono **tutte le sfumature di colori** che si possono trovare in natura. Il modo in cui la luce si interseca nelle facce delle gemme è semplicemente magico!
Al **Museo Civico di Storia Naturale di Pordenone** (Friuli-Venezia Giulia) si trova una **ricca collezione di pietre preziose di origine naturale** e nelle foto che seguono potete apprezzare la loro bellezza.
Agata, ambra, zolfo, zaffiro, … sono solo alcuni esempi delle pietre che è possibile ammirare.
Humanity's fascination with gems and precious stones has its roots in **prehistory**, when our ancestors began to appreciate the beauty, rarity, and durability of these gifts of nature.
Since ancient times, these stones have been not only **ornaments**, but also **symbols of power, wealth, protection, and spirituality**.
Il fascino dell’uomo per le gemme e le pietre preziose affonda le radici nella **preistoria**, quando i nostri antenati iniziarono ad apprezzare la bellezza, la rarità e la durabilità di questi doni della natura.
Fin dall’antichità, queste pietre non sono stati solo **ornamenti**, ma anche **simboli di potere, ricchezza, protezione e spiritualità**.
In ancient times, stones such as **lapis lazuli** and **turquoise** were considered talismans and were used in jewelry and amulets. The first to establish a distinction of value were the ancient Greeks, who identified **diamond**, **ruby**, **sapphire**, and **emerald** as "precious" gems due to their hardness and rarity.
Beyond luxury, a crucial aspect is their spiritual and healing significance, which for millennia has led to beliefs in **mystical properties** (for example, amethyst against drunkenness or garnet for protection in battle).
