A friend shared a reel on our group chat.
it's about a Military commandant discussing what it is a leader, clearly taking a shot at the president. A good leader - makes things happen A bad leader - waits things to happen and a worse leader - wondering why things happen.
My reaction:
... Why are you comparing being a platoon leader to being a president of a country.
Let's start with the FUNDAMENTAL difference between the two. CONTROL and TRUST.
can you control your troops? dismiss the ones performing badly? as a commandant. YES as a president. FUCK NO, that's authoritarian.
A commandant leads through control. A president leads through trust. and unlike control, you can trust someone and they can still stab you in the back.
