Feliz noche amigos de Daily Blog está noche quiero compartir un poco de lo que han sido mis días con mi mamá y es que ha tenido que recibir 4 transfusiones de sangre en esta última semana. Decir que estoy cansada es poco, pero seguimos en busca de que su salud mejore y está semana fuimos a un doctor que nos dió un diagnóstico. No un diagnóstico exacto pero que si nos ayudó a tener un tratamiento y hacer que ella esté un poco mejor.
Good night, Daily Blog friends. Tonight I want to share a little about my time with my mom. She's had to receive four blood transfusions this past week. To say I'm tired is an understatement, but we continue working to improve her health, and this week we went to a doctor who gave us a diagnosis. Not an exact diagnosis, but it did help us find treatment and make her feel a little better.
El martes nos tocaba ir al médico para que ella recibiera otra transfusion pero al llegar y hacerle unos exámenes estaba bastante baja la hemoglobina además ella había estado con diarrea. Tuvieron que colocarle unos medicamentos y esa noche quedó en observación tuvimos que buscar ropa y sábanas para poder quedarnos en este lugar. Luego de que el tratamiento paro la diarrea comenzaron a colocarle la transfusión. Han sido días tan fuertes y con miedo de que a ella le pase algo. Pero ella ha sido fuerte y se que pronto todo esto será un recuerdo de días difíciles.
On Tuesday, we were scheduled to go to the doctor for another transfusion, but when we arrived and they ran some tests, her hemoglobin was quite low, and she'd been having diarrhea. They had to give her some medication, and that night she was kept under observation. We had to find clothes and sheets so we could stay there. After the treatment stopped the diarrhea, they started giving her the transfusion. These have been such tough days, and I've been afraid something might happen to her. But she's been strong, and I know that soon all of this will be a memory of those difficult days.
Al día siguiente había que colocarle otra transfusión para lograr estabilizar su hemoglobina, ya en total ha recibido 6 transfusiones de sangre y aún así su hemoglobina seguia bajando. Sabíamos que la sangre la perdía por las heces pero la llevamos a una gastroenteróloga y está no hizo mucho solo le envío un protector gástrico y dijo que debía ir a otros doctores. Aunque han sido días difíciles no dejo de apreciar los pequeños regalos que nos da la vida y mientras esperaba que nos buscarán en el hospital Vi esta hermosa vista que no podía perder la oportunidad de tomar una foto.
The next day, she needed another transfusion to stabilize her hemoglobin. She's now had a total of six blood transfusions, and yet her hemoglobin continued to drop. We knew she was losing blood through her stool, but we took her to a gastroenterologist, and she didn't do much; she just prescribed a gastric protector and said she should see other doctors. Although these have been difficult days, I still appreciate the small gifts life gives us. While I was waiting for someone to pick us up at the hospital, I saw this beautiful view that I couldn't miss the opportunity to take a photo of.
Finalmente logramos encontrar una cita con otro gastroenterólogo que es muy bueno y es el que mi mamá quería ir desde el día uno pero que no encontramos cita antes. Este doctor la examinó súper bien. Y finalmente nos dió un diagnóstico y es una hemorragia intestinal que aún no sabemos que la ocasionó o donde está exactamente pero este doctor le envío una dieta blanda a mi mamá y le envío un medio que debe tomar casi por una semana y esto debería parar la hemorragia y también hay que hacerle otros exámenes como son la video gastrocopia y la video colonoscopia para saber exactamente lo que pasó. Estamos tratando de hacer estos exámenes la semana que viene, lo que pasa es que estos exámenes tienen un costo bastante alto. En la clínica donde hemos estado acudiendo tienen un costo de 900$
We finally managed to find an appointment with another gastroenterologist, who is very good and the one my mom wanted to see since day one, but we couldn't get an appointment before. This doctor examined her extremely well. And finally, he gave us a diagnosis: intestinal bleeding. We still don't know what caused it or where exactly it is. However, this doctor prescribed a soft diet for my mom and prescribed a medication she should take for almost a week, which should stop the bleeding. She also needs other tests, such as a video gastroscopy and a video colonoscopy, to determine exactly what happened. We're trying to get these tests done next week; the thing is, these tests are quite expensive. At the clinic we've been going to, they cost $900.
