For this weeks [Show Us Your California](https://peakd.com/mycalifornia/@thesocalhive/show-us-your-california-contest-week-200) contest by @thesocalhive I headed up into the San Bernardino mountains for a fun day of snowboarding at...

Snow Summit!!

As the weather starts warming up here in SoCal the snow in the mountains is disappearing. But I still wanted to get in one last day of snowboarding this season. So I headed up into the San Bernardino mountains to Big Bear. Both Snow Valley and Bear Mountain were already closed for the season, but luckily Snow Summit was still open! I got up there early and was able to hit the slopes as soon as the lifts opened.

Some of the lifts weren't running, but pretty much all the runs were open and you can get to all the different areas of the mountain from the top of chair 2. So I started there and did some warm up laps on 'Summit Run' and 'Miracle Mile'. Then I moved over to chair 3 where I did some laps on 'East Why' and 'Ego Trip'. And then over to chair 9 for some laps on 'Skyline Creek', 'Mainstream', and 'Last Chance'. Then back over to 3 for more laps on 'Ego Trip' which was the nicest run on the western side of the mountain.

After that I headed over to the eastern side of the mountain and rode chair 7 for awhile. I like the runs over there 'Timber Ridge' and '7 Down'. And I did several laps. But the snow conditions were pretty choppy and it was making each run quite a workout. So I decided to go checkout 'The Wall'. Chair 6 wasn't running so I had to go all the way to the bottom, but the snow on 'The Wall' was the best on the mountain so I did several big laps riding chair 2 and rotating between laps on 'The Wall' and 'Log Chute'. As the afternoon heated up the snow got increasingly slushy and eventually I called it a day and did my final run of the season. All in all it was a great day and I'm glad I was able to get out there one more time before they closed.
