Friends, on this beautiful day, I have a new drawing that I'd love to show you. Today I painted the i201 Yellow Trombone card. This is an instrument that you can find in the common cards section. I really liked its golden color. Well, for those who don't know how this instrument works in real life, let me tell you a little bit.
As you can see on the cover above, the trombone is very similar to a trumpet; they're almost identical, except that it has some differences that make it unique from the trumpet. The arm is the main difference. It can be lengthened or shortened inside the trombone. Its function is to regulate the airflow inside the instrument and, in turn, can create long and short tones. In the case of the trumpet, instead of having an arm to regulate the air, it has three valves on its upper part. These are what allow it to create the notes.
But obviously, you're not here to hear me talk about instruments; you want to see how I painted it. And I won't let you down. Right now, I'll show you how I did the whole process. You'll see when I started, the first thing I designed was the card frame, which is now a classic in my drawings since it's the first step. It ended up like this:
With that ready, I began to design what would become the trombone. If you notice, when I was making it, the first part looked like a trumpet; just adding the valves on the top would have been almost the same. The first photo shows the air outlet, and the second one is when I made the arm and the part that connects it to the trumpet or mouthpiece.
In the next step, I added all the remaining details, such as embellishments on the trombone's arm and body. With that, the sketch was complete and ready to be painted.
Now, let's paint. The moment you've surely been waiting for has arrived. Weren't you? I hope so. 😅. This is the process I followed: the frame, then the interior backgrounds in various shades of blue, and the golden trombone. Here are some screenshots.
And finally, to finish, I'll show you the final touch-up process. I added the game name, the card category, and the card's name. And that's it. And that's it. Did you like it? I'll be waiting for your responses. See you next time.
