After being inactive for a few months, I finally got to sit down for a while and play a few bullet games to finally improve my rating, which had been stagnant for months. Sometimes it would go up, but usually it would drop almost instantly after a few bad games.
It's okay if you're not too into bullet chess, but I love it and it's been my favorite pace for some time now, at least online, along with blitz. That's why I'm so excited to be reaching 2400!
Some of these games are quite frantic, I don't have much strategy, especially in the middle game, but there is another factor to take into account, and that is the clock, which puts extra pressure on us, either for or against, in each game.
So, in many of these games, I focused on being as vertical as possible, attacking all possible points without mercy. Attack is certainly better than defense in this pace of play, and many of these games prove it.
When I haven't been offensive, I find myself at a disadvantage most of the time, or there is also a fatal error in the middle that, although not fatal enough to abandon the game, does affect the rest of the strategy quite a bit.
In the opening, I don't lose more than 10 seconds most of the time. I tend to be quick in developing my pieces, especially in certain openings where your order of moves is clear most of the time, and you don't have to do anything unusual.
Just arrange the pieces in their best positions, castle, and try to find some imbalance. Remember that it is crucial that we attack first so that the enemy shrinks and retreats. If we are on the attack most of the time, we will have a good position.
