Storming the 2300s / Classic Tournament and Bullet Chess Session

I had a rough week at work, so maybe a few games of chess on lichess will make me feel better, right?

Well, it seems halfway. Every game I play in bullet mode feels like a race to see who makes the fewest mistakes possible and thus see who will win in the end.

I'm good at finding offensive play, but in pressure situations I sometimes collapse and make mistakes. I was balancing a bit and was lucky they were also playing a classic tournament, so it was convenient for me to train.

My favorite game today, where I was able to massacre the opponent even though I had plenty of time, was the calmest game I had this session, and although I was pressured at times, I think I solved most of the challenges well.

But the next game was definitely going to fall for me.

I was already playing the Classic tournament and had had some good games, so I was very confident. But all that confidence came crashing down in this game. After a few moves, I felt at a disadvantage, and a couple of moves later, I was already lost in the position. It made me really angry because I thought I could be on his level.

Although after that, there was a game to cheer me up a bit, perhaps against a lower-ranked opponent, but that doesn't mean we're going to discredit him because he played quite well and put me in an opening that I didn't enjoy at all. I could say it's one of my least favorites, and in most cases, I find myself I'm out of ideas, although I did get it right here.

Finally, a game where the key was to RESIST as long as I could. It was one of those bullet games where you don't give up unless you're way down in pieces, but just a pawn down still gives you the chance to pull off a few dirty tricks here and there. Right at the end is where I saw my chance to get some extra points to attack 2300 again!

I'll surely be getting there in future posts.
