The cherimoya is, without a doubt, my favorite fruit and one of the most delicious in Cuba. Unfortunately, it's harvested for a short time, and here in Havana, there are few trees that bear this fruit. These factors make cherimoya expensive, and the vast majority of people can't eat it more often. I like to cut open the fruit and put it in the freezer for a few minutes before eating it. This way, the flavor resembles mantecado ice cream. Lamentablemente se cosecha durante poco tiempo y aquí en La Habana hay pocos árboles que dan este fruto. Estos factores hacen que la chirimoya sea costosa y la gran mayoría del pueblo no la pueda consumir más a menudo. A mí me gusta abrir la fruta y ponerla en el congelador unos minutos antes de comerla y así el sabor se me asemeja al helado de mantecado. Si nunca has comido chirimoya te exorto a que lo hagas porque además de deliciosa es muy saludable.
