I'm not sure when street art/graffiti really came to Berlin. But it probably goes back several decades. There are an incredible number of gigantic paintings on the many large walls of houses. Many street artists, both international and local, have provided the variety in the art.
We happened to be here by accident. The places of intereset this day, was Checkpoint Chalie. We simply walked straight south and found our selves at this roundabout / place called Mehringplatz. Only one murals can be seen from the main street. That was the huge, colorful elephant painted by by Jadore Tong. You have to walk ovr to the sport field to see it. Then if you walk around the building you will start to spot several murals. This is one of them.
One of the places where I saw some of these huge murals was Mehringplatz in the center of Berlin. This is one of them. A huge building covered with quite an interesting mural with lots of details. There are many details here that show different aspects of life. It takes time to study them in detail and try to understand what is meant by each one.
