Character review: Aquila Marin from Saint Seiya

Greetings, my dear friends. I hope you and your families are well. Today I bring you a very important character from the Saint Seiya universe, one of the most important secondary characters, or at least one of the most important for me. I am referring to the great warrior Marin, that tough, mysterious girl who seemed cold and ruthless but who was an essential part of Seiya's development and training. Thanks to her, he not only achieved great combat skills throughout his life, but she also shaped his character and was a fundamental figure for him.

Marin's childhood has been a mystery, or at least I don't remember anything that revealed her exact origins. What I do remember is that she carried a sadness with her, a message behind all that tough and strong girl facade, which was the search for her brother throughout the saga. In fact, there were rumors that her lost brother was Saiya, but no, I think she felt even more connected to him because she wanted to fill the void left by her brother's absence. Finally, she learned that her lost brother was Touma of Icarus, one of Artemis' angels, a formidable warrior who played an important role in history at the time.

She was always cold and difficult to deal with. For Seiya, this was a bit complicated, as it is normal to expect a little more empathy or connection from a girl. This made her seem very distant at times, but inside she was a person who felt a lot of love for those around her.

I think many of us have wondered why Marin of Eagle wears a mask. because she is a Saint of Athena, and as a woman, she was not allowed to show her face unless Athena permitted it, or unless she was defeated in combat. They had to renounce their identity as women and always hide their faces. She is a character I always liked, and I was glad that we finally found out who her brother was. She was like a sister to Seiya and a symbol of loyalty and empowerment.
