My Neighbor Totoro: A children's fantasy that touches your heart

Hey, my fellow fans of good anime, happy start to the week. Today I want to tell you about my impressions of a very famous movie I saw yesterday, which I don't know why I hadn't seen before. It's called “My Neighbor Totoro,” made by Studio Ghibli in 1988, and I find it fascinating that it's so old and yet the animation is so excellent. I feel that these creators are way ahead of their time, and I've seen other films by them and had the same impression.

Now I want to talk a little more about the movie. I must say that I think it's a good choice for something out of the ordinary, since we're used to watching series or movies that are a little more profound in terms of drama. If you're looking for a little intensity and a deep narrative, this isn't the movie for you. To be honest, I was satisfied with it, but I also have to say that I was expecting something deeper. However, since I didn't find it, I wasn't disappointed either.

“My Neighbor Totoro” is a fantasy film inspired by Japanese fairy tales. We know how outstanding Studio Ghibli is in terms of animation, character expressions, and beautiful editing, perfectly capturing everything about their culture, which is so beautiful. This film is perfect because sometimes we get a little overwhelmed by how deep some films are or how violent they can be, so this one offers a special freshness.

I also want to highlight how beautifully they portray the childhood of these two little girls. There were situations that made me understand how beautiful that stage of life is, and how we sometimes forget how innocent we were at that time and how happy we were with such simple things.

These little girls reflect that; they are free, cheerful, and give off that air of nostalgia that is sometimes good to remember. I also understand that at first glance you might think the film is childish, but it's actually very family-friendly. It leaves you with a beautiful message about two lovely sisters who are very close. I also felt that it has a certain air about it, or maybe it's inspired by Alice in Wonderland, as there's a lot of fantasy, and Totoro, who is an important part of the film, has a similar smile, and there's a catbus (which is a little scary).

I have no criticism. Although the plot is not overly elaborate, it is entertaining and does what I felt I needed, which was to see something very familiar and remember some things from childhood and family unity. So, if you haven't seen it, go see it. I'm sure you'll love it. I give it an 8 out of 10.
