Charactober : Mosscloak

Hello Hivers,

This is how I interpreted the character prompt : Mosscloak image.png Lore Goroz, the Mosscloak Goroz is the final, living and post-living hybrid form of a Dimora spirit. It went through the Great Retreat process which is a slow and quiet merging with the forest fungal network. The cloak figure is a symbiotic shell, where the creature's consciousness has fully merged with the fast-growing mosses and fungi of the cloak. This living growth is now like a new body. The visible striped pants are preserved Remnants that serve as a spiritual anchor, recalling the Dimora's old life. The intense, glowing red eyes are the concentrated essence of the spirit's personal biolight, the final sign of a life force that now watches over the forest as a silent keeper and distributor of renewal.

image.png The process of designing this character: Here is what I need to nail as I was conceptualizing the character tied to my previous character I call in general as Dimora. These are grove-dwelling beings with fungal or plant-like growths; earthy, social, and deeply tied to seasonal change. I am thinking it could be a spirit so that is what the glowing eyes are for. It has a full cloak and visible pants, slight humanoid shape but hidden features.

I want the character as a hybrid of a living dimora who retreated into a symbiotic cloak that grows its own fungi; and a post-living dimora whose form has merged entirely with the moss network of the cloak, wearing remnants of its old body like a costume.

So this cloak character could be a post-living dimora — something that wears its memory as a body. The pants and cloak could be remnants of when it still had a form, and the glowing eyes are the last signs of its biolight essence.

Names I am deciding upon are: Kolmus or Goroz

Some work in progress images: image.png I borrowed this shape and look from my previous dimora character named Orvel I want to keep the round shape of the body and changed the cloak color to green from navy. I kept the red striped pants image.png

I added a hood and defined the lapels and sleeves. Here I slowly added the mycelial outgrowth starting with the sleeves going up to the collar. Made the lapels color lighter to differentiate them from the green garment image.png I used a texture brush to give that moss effect and worn and tired look

Hope you like it. Hive On gif courtesy of doze
