For some reason my hotel in Auckland is not serving breakfast so I had to go on a little trek to find a coffee shop that was open, luckily I found Caffe Greco open just across the road only about a 5 minute walk away. It was a bit cold for sitting outside first thing in the morning it’s still winter here so it was a bit of a shock to the system coming from the heatwave in the UK to a cold and wet New Zealand.
Very light and airy inside more importantly warm, it looked clean and inviting so I thought I’d give it a go. It was certainly a lot warmer inside than it was walking over.
After ordering my ham and cheese croissant was very fresh and the croissant was really buttery along with a black coffee only came to just over £5 which I thought was very reasonable but it’s early days and I don't know what New Zealand prices are going to be like. The service was really quick and I’d just sat down when the waitress appeared with my breakfast. I was hungry and tucked into breakfast before my Hive post head took a breakfast photo.
Not exactly sure if this a local breakfast delicacy I only saw the Greco special sign on the way out but I wasn’t sure I was going to risk it. 😂
