Hi there. In this post I cover the Darumaka + Darmanitan Pokemon cards from Japan's Inferno X set. There is also a Mega Malamar reveal from the Legends Z-A upcoming video game.
Darumaka + Darmanitan
Darumaka is a Basic Fire Pokemon with 80 HP, a 2 retreat cost and Water weakness. The Blazing Ball requires 3 Colourless Energy to do 10 base damage. For each Fire Energy attached to this, this Blazing Ball does 20 more damage.
Darmanitan is the Stage 1 evolution of Darumaka. This has 150 HP, 3 retreat cost and Water weakness. The Blazing Ball is similar to Darumaka's attack. There is 40 base damage with 40 more damage for each Fire Energy attached to this Darmanitan. You do at least 200 damage if it has 4 Fire Energy on it.
The Darmanitan attack is costly. You can use Reversal Energy to cover 3 Fire Energy if you are behind. Then you need 1 more Fire Energy. There are too many cards needed to make Darmanitan a dangerous attacker.
Mega Malamar Reveal For Legends Z-A Video Game
The 52nd Mega Evolution is Mega Malamar. This new Mega Pokemon debuts on October 16, 2025 in the Legends: Z-A videogame. Below, I have the regular Malamar on the left and Mega Malamar on the right. This is for comparison.
