Hi there. In this Pokemon TCG post, I cover the Flygon evolution line and the Sacred Charm cards from the Inferno X set from Pokemon Japan.
These cards release internationally as a part of the Phantasmal Flames set in late 2025.
Trapinch + Vibrava
Trapinch and Vibrava are a part of the Flygon evolution line. Both are not great attackers.
Flygon
Here is Flygon. This Stage 2 Fighting Pokemon has 150 HP, one retreat cost and Grass weakness.
The Cutter Wind attack does 130 damage from 2 Fighting Energy. It is an okay attack.
Flygon's Flapping Sand ability activates upon evolution from hand or when this Pokemon is Knocked Out by damage from an attack of your opponent's Pokemon. When this ability is activated, you can discard the top 2 cards of your opponent's deck.
Milling cards from the opponent's deck can be super powerful if they cannot retrieve certain cards from the discard pile. Getting the ability to activate upon Knock Out from damage is not that easy to get. This whole Flygon evolution line does not seem worth it just to mill 2 cards. This could be okay in a prerelease limited sealed format.
Sacred Charm
Sacred Charm is a new and unique tool card that is compatible with any Pokemon out there. The Pokemon that this card is attached to takes 30 less damage from attacks from Pokemon with any Abilities.
There are a lot of popular Pokemon attackers that have abilities. These include:
- Gholdengo ex
- Gardevoir ex (kind of used for attacking)
- Charizard ex
- Marnie's Grimmsnarl ex
- Miraidon ex
- N's Zoroark ex

A main downside to this Sacred Charm Tool card is there are also popular attackers that don't have abilities. These are:
- Raging Bolt ex
- Dragapult ex
- Iron Hands ex
- Zekrom ex
- Wellspring Ogerpon ex
- Flareon ex

I can see this Sacred Charm tool card see some play. It is such a niche tool card and deck space is tight for many decks. Not every deck will try this.
Thank you for reading.
