Hi there. There has been a reveal from the Pokemon World Championships on August 17 of Mega Charizard ex and new rare cards. Japan gets the Inferno X featuring Mega Charizard ex on September 26, 2026. Mega Dragonite ex appears in Japan in November 2025. English version of the cards are unknown when it comes to release dates.
Mega Dragonite ex
Here is Mega Dragonite ex. This bulky Stage 2 Pokemon that evolves from Dragonair has 370 HP, two retreat cost and no weakness.
The Sky Transport ability is a useful ability that you can use once during your turn. Switch your Active Pokemon with 1 of your Benched Pokemon. Switching Pokemon does not seem powerful but there are cases where a Pokemon Switch is useful. A Pokemon Switch is good for retreating a non-attacking Pokemon for a different Pokemon or removing a retreat lock effect like Maractus. Switching is good to make use of Pokemon abilities that need a Pokemon in the Active Spot like Tatsugiri.

Mega Dragonite ex's Ryuno Glide attack does 330 damage but it requires 1 Water Energy and 2 Lightning Energy. This attack does discard 2 Energy after the attack. I am not sure how you meet the Energy cost requirements for the attack. Maybe use Eelektrik? Not sure.
Mega Charizard ex
Pokemon does like to bring back Charizard to bring in some hype. Here is Mega Charizard ex. This Stage 2 Fire Pokemon has 360 HP, 2 retreat cost and Water weakness.
There is no ability on this, just one attack. Inferno X requires 2 Fire Energy for the attack cost. This attack does 90 damage for each Fire Energy you choose to discard from among your Pokemon. There is no limit on the amount of damage you can do from this Inferno X attack. It is similar to Raging Bolt ex.
One question to ask is how do you get many Fire Energy in play for this attack. Check out Oricorio ex below.
Oricorio ex
Oricorio ex as an attacker is not good. You use this to supplement Mega Charizard ex.
The Excited Turbo ability can only be used if you have any Fire Mega Evolution Pokemon ex in play. As often as you like you can attach Basic Fire Energy from your hand to 1 of your Benched Fire Pokemon. This ability provides fuel for Mega Charizard ex's Inferno X attack.
One major problem with this Oricorio ex is that is a 2 Prize liability.
New Secret Card Rarity For Mega Pokemon: Mega Attack Rares
There is also a new card rarity for Mega evolution Pokemon. The artworks are similar to the old Mega Pokemon EX.

With the return of Mega Pokemon, I do think the demand for Pokemon cards will be even higher than the Prismatic Evolution times. I predict fights during this upcoming Black Friday in November 2025 with people trying to buy/scalp cards. The 30th anniversary of Pokemon is in 2026. That year will go crazy.
