In this post, I cover the full set reveal of the Pokemon TCG Pocket 4a set Secluded Springs. This new set was released on Thursday August 28, 2025.
As there are so many cards to cover, I cover some of the cards here. The full list of cards can be found here.
This post is long, read what you want.
Jumpluff ex Evolution Line

This evolution line is interesting. The attacks don't require Grass Energy. You can use any Energy type.
The Skiploom and Jumpluff ex attacks deal damage and then run away.
Celebi
The introduction of Rare Candy from a couple of sets ago have really helped stage 2 Pokemon decks in Pocket. Celebi's Temporal Leaves attack requires 2 Grass Energy to deal 40 damage plus a devolution effect. If the opponent's Active Pokemon is an evolved Pokemon, you devolve it by putting the highest Stage evolution card to the opponent's hand. In some cases this results in a knockout. In theory, this Celebi can punish greedy decks that are too reliant on Rare Candy with no Stage 1 evolution Pokemon.
Celebi would not be useful if the opponent only runs Basic Pokemon.
Yamper & Boltund
![]() |
![]() |
Yamper is an okay Lightning Basic Pokemon. One lightning Energy for 20 damage is good in the early game.
Boltund is kind of interesting. The Defiant Spark requires 1 Lightning Energy and 2 Colourless Energy to deal 70 damage. If this Boltund has damage on it, then you can use Defiant Spark for just 1 Lightning Energy.
Misdreavus & Mismagius
![]() |
![]() |
Although Misdreavus is weak at 50 HP, the ability is interesting. When you put this Pokemon from your hand to your Bench, you may have your opponent reveal their hand. The Will-O-Wisp attack is okay. One Psychic Energy to deal 20 damage.
Mismagius is the Stage 1 evolution of Misdreavus. The Cursed Prose is one of the delayed attacks like Future Sight in the Pokemon video game. For one Psychic Energy you deal 90 damage to the Defending Pokemon at the end of the opponent's next turn. One Energy for 90 damage is pretty good. The opponent could switch their Active Pokemon and choose a different Pokemon to take the 90 damage.
Galarian Corsola & Cursola
![]() |
![]() |
The Galarian Corsola is okay. One Psychic Energy for 20 damage from its Tackle attack.
The Cursola looks annoying to play against. Perish Body is a revenge style ability that activates when the Galarian Cursola is Knocked Out from damage from an attack. Flip a coin. If the coin flip is heads, the Attacking Pokemon is Knocked Out.
Latias & Latios
![]() |
![]() |
I have covered this duo in a previous post. It does seem difficult to power up Latios for the Luster Purge attack. Latias is okay in the early game if you have Latios as well.
Zorua & Zoroark
![]() |
![]() |
Zorua is a good early game attacker as Ram does 20 damage from 1 Dark Energy.
As an attacker, Zoroark is okay. Two Dark Energy for 70 damage. The ability is interesting though. It is a hit and run style of ability. If the opponent's Pokemon is Knocked Out by damage from this Zoroark, then during your opponent's next turn you prevent all damage and effects of attacks done to this Zoroark. This is a very unique and possibly powerful ability.
Swablu & Altaria
![]() |
![]() |
The Swablu is kind of weak at 50 HP but the Altaria can be a dangerous attacker.
Dragon Arcana requires 2 of any Energy type for 40 base damage. If this Pokemon has 2 or more different types of Energy attached then this attack does 60 more damage (100 total). One hundred damage from 2 Energy is really powerful if you do pull it off.
Zangoose
Zangoose could be a good alternative to Druddigon when it comes to stall/wall style Pokemon. The Counterattack ability in the Active Spot deals 20 damage to the Attacking Pokemon if the opponent's Pokemon hits the Zangoose with an attack.
Slash is okay at 2 Colourless Energy for 50 damage.
Poliwag, Poliwhirl, Poliwrath ex
![]() |
![]() |
![]() |
Poliwag is okay and Poliwhirl is okay for a Stage 1 attacker.
I don't think Poilwrath ex is good. It can be slow to get a Stage 2 Pokemon in play. On top of that, the single attack requires one Fighting and 2 Colourless Energy to deal 100 base damage. Too much setup and time needed to get this going.
Entei ex, Suicune ex and Raikou ex
![]() |
![]() |
![]() |
I have covered this trio in a previous post. All three of these have the Legendary Pulse ability where you draw 1 card at the end of the turn if the Raikou/Entei/Suicune ex is in the Active Spot.
From an attacking perspective, Suicune ex is the best. It does more damage as there are more Benched Pokemon on both sides.
New Baby Pokemon - Igglybuff, Azurill and Mantyke
![]() |
![]() |
![]() |
All three of these have 30 HP, zero weakness and zero retreat cost. These baby Pokemon are good if you are going first during your first turn.
Igglybuff is the most annoying one out of the bunch. A free attack that does 10 damage plus auto Asleep. You can potentially stall with Igglybuff as you setup and evolve Pokemon.
Azurill seems bad. It does not deal damage nor accelerate energy. Healing 50 damage is good but it is more past the early game.
Mantyke provides good Water Energy acceleration in the early game. Take 1 Water Energy from your Energy zone and attach it to 1 of your Benched Basic Pokemon.
Inflatable Boat
I don't think Water Pokemon need even more support but here is Inflatable Boat. This tool card reduces the retreat cost of the Water Pokemon this card is attached to by 1.
Memory Light
Memory Light is an interesting Tool card. The Pokemon with this Memory Light tool card can use any attack from its previous evolutions provided that it has enough Energy for its attack. Memory Light is very similar to Relicanth from the regular Pokemon TCG.
Some research would be needed to find good use cases for Memory Light. One combo I can think of is using the new Phanpy with Donphan ex. If Donphan ex is heavily damaged then you can use Memory Light and the Phanpy's Flail attack for big damage from 1 Fighting Energy.

Miltank & Whitney
![]() |
![]() |
Miltank is a bulky Basic Pokemon with 3 retreat cost and Fighting weakness. The Rolling Frenzy for 1 Energy does 10 base damage. As long as Miltank is in the Active Spot, the Rolling Frenzy attack does 30 more damage and it does stack. The next turn would be 40 damage then 70 damage, then 100 damage and so on. Rolling Frenzy is very similar to the Rollout attack from the video game.
As an attacker Miltank puts early game pressure on opponents. Decks with slower setups may find Miltank overwhelming.
Whitney is a niche Supporter card that goes with Miltank. It heals 60 damage from 1 of your Miltank and it recovers from being Asleep, Paralyzed and Confused. No Poison healing though.
Traveling Merchant
Traveling Merchant is a Supporter card dedicated for Pokemon Tool cards. Look at the top 4 cards of your deck and put all Pokemon Tool cards you find there into your hand. (Shuffle the other cards into your deck.)
I wish it was something like a direct search for a Pokemon Tool card. Not a fan of randomized search cards or look at the top cards of your deck and find stuff cards like this.
Morty
Morty could see play in Psychic and Gardevoir decks. It is rare to see cards with deck manipulation effects.
For each of your Psychic Pokemon in play, Morty allows you to look at that many cards from the top of your opponent's deck and put them back in any order. You can possibly slow the opponent down a lot if you put something like a Professor's Research further back in the deck. Another case would be moving a Rare Candy from the next card in the opponent's deck further back. This would delay a fast evolution to a Stage 2 Pokemon.
Morty would be useless if you have just 1 Psychic Pokemon in play. That would be just looking at the top card of your opponent's deck. Using Morty if you have 3 or 4 Psychic Pokemon in play would be ideal.

Shiny Cards
The shiny cards in this set are shiny reprints of cards from previous sets. Only Mantyke gets a gold card.
