Hi there. In this travel post, I share my travels to Schonbrunn Castle & park area in Vienna, Austria. This was back in 2023.
Getting To Schnobrunn Castle By Metro
You can get to the Schonbrunn Castle by taxi. Our hotel was close to the castle so we took the Metro in Vienna. The station was just Schonbrunn on the U4 green line. Map shown below
Once you exit the Schonbrunn station, there is a bit of a walk to the entrance of the Castle area.
Outside Of Castle Pictures
For the outside entrance, the admission is free. If you want to tour the inside of the castle then you have to buy tickets. No photos allowed in the castle.
You can still see some nice things at the outside of the castle. Photos from my Samsung A50 phone at the time.

Behind the castle, there are nice trails with large trees and some statues. This area is good for a light jog.

I also took some pictures of the castle outside from the top of a waterfall.

Near the castle there is also a zoo. It is called Schonbrunn Zoo. This could be a future post.
Uphill Part Near The Castle
Behind the castle there is a big uphill part. At the top there are statues, a cafe and you can get another view of the Schonbrunn castle from the top.

You could spend a good two hours here exploring the area. The weather at the time was okay in September 2023. I do recommend going in the morning especially if you want to visit the castle inside.
Thank you for reading.
