Family Function Photography

I am not yet ready, wait for it, show me my pics first, oh take a photo of my toddler too while he is walking, these are the phrases I hear every time when I am hired free of cost for family function photography. And what do I earn? Nothing goes into my pocket. Instead, my tummy is filled so I get free food for making free pics. I am evidence of family tantrums which happen all the time and of those running kids who spoil every picture. I am not going to mention the ladies here who are never satisfied with their pics; from a bundle of photos, they like only one, and if it’s a family picture and they are not looking pretty, of course, I have to delete those pictures as they would kill me in case of disagreeing.

No More Netflix This Weekend

Actually, I am the free person in the family who remains busy with the phone and thankfully my camera results are also good. Additionally, I can do some editing, that’s why everyone points a finger at me for clicking good pics. This doesn’t mean I am an outclass photographer, yet I am an ordinary person who clicks photos that are not blurry lol. This time my family decided to spend the weekend, me along with my sisters and their in-laws made up our minds to visit the Pakistan Maritime Museum Karachi. It was a half-hour drive and we reached there in the evening as the ladies started their makeup heavy-duty in the afternoon and it took them hours to do it. Having a Naval family, we got concessions on tickets and entered the museum with grace, unloading all the food, baggage, and baby strollers lol what a duty.

Lighthouse, Stalls, and Swings

The area is vast, having a park, swings, pool, and museum. Importantly, ships, cannons, radars, planes, and other military equipment are placed everywhere for public information purposes. Different stalls including crafts, bakery items, makeup items, mud crafts, books, and other such handmade crafts were placed, which really looked attractive. I purchased an ice cream as this was the only time when I was free, ahhh maybe I should have disappeared there at that time. Later, we visited a lighthouse that signals ships, a jumping castle where the kids enjoyed, and swings where we had a lot of fun with mom as she was scared. We took a tea break here as we bought macaroni, club sandwiches, and cold drinks for the outing.

Ship & Shipman

Our next place to visit was a ship. I ate air there hehe, the scenery looked fantastic. By the way, I had a ship tour too, so somehow I’m a shipman too. There is a place made for photography and people gathered here for the same purpose, at that time maybe I should die. Had an enormous photoshoot there and no picture of the photographer, of course.

Museum

Seeing the sunset, water flowing, and some standing water pics, after that I felt time passed so rapidly. When we entered the museum, it was night time. My dad started telling us his Naval man story and about the military stuff when we entered the museum, how their uniform resembles the British Navy, how the ship looks, and what are the body parts of a ship. Look at the Mohenjo-Daro art piece, the monument of Muhammad Bin Qasim who conquered Sindh.

History of Courageous Pakistan Navy

There is a whole history written for reading purposes. The aquarium contains fishes along with descriptions of fishes and a few preserved species are also placed here. A vast history and descriptions of operations conducted by Pakistan Navy in 1965 and 1971 are being portrayed. How Operation Dwarka broke the backbone of the Indian Army by destroying two major ships, Kukri and Khirpan, in 1965. Visual videos are also being shown to the public. I felt my military patriotic blood flowing through my whole body. Our leader Quaid-e-Azam visited the Pakistan Navy; ranks of Pakistan and Naval force uniforms are being shown brilliantly.

Some Water and Military Info

Dad explained to us the phenomena of flooding and deflooding in submarines. If it wants to go deep into water, it fills water in its body, and in case of floating on the surface, it expels all the water. Torpedo missiles were also placed for educational purposes, showing how strong Pakistan’s defense is as we have water-to-air striking missile ranges which can hit targets easily. On the second floor, there was a whale skeleton preserved in the science gallery and I couldn’t visit as I am not a science person lol, I was too tired. I hardly managed to have a train trip of the whole Maritime Museum, and in the night lights, it looked so awesome. Babies started crying and we had to return in time, but honestly, I enjoyed this weekend a lot.
