Mang Tu Grassland - The Spiritual Land of the Xo Dang People

Hello dear Hivers in the Worldmappin community, today I will take you to Mang Tu Grassland, the spiritual land of the Xo Dang people. Located in Mang But commune, a remote commune of Kon Plong district, and about 70km from the tourist town of Mang Den, Mang But is a historical site, which was once a fierce battlefield in the war against the US. And now this is a peaceful land, and there Mang Tu is a sacred land of the Xo Dang people, an ethnic minority living in this area.

To reach this land, we have to spend 3 hours driving through winding roads through the mountainsides. Mang Tu Grassland is like an oasis separated by the winding S'Nghe river. And to reach this land, the villagers built a suspension bridge across the river.

Mang Tu grassland is a flat grassland. And there are no houses on the grassland except for the long house in the middle of the grassland. This long house is built from wood, bamboo and forest leaves. This is the community center of the Xo Dang people. And this is also the place where spiritual activities and important events of the village take place.

When we arrived here, we had the opportunity to meet and talk with some local people. The life of the people here is very simple and happy. They earn their living mainly from growing rice, raising cattle and hunting in the forest. They do not know much about the life of the outside world. They spend all their time with their families and the surrounding community, and I think that is also the reason why they are happy people.
