I took upon the responsibility of putting together the spread for a backyard birthday party that grew to a 4-person celebration due to each of them having birthdays between July and August. We sang "Happy Birthday" to my better half, my two grandchildren and a grand niece. Happily, everyone seemed to enjoy the food and the yard, as well as the pool.
There was a pepperoni pizza, a grandma pizza and two platters of cold cuts. One platter was American, with slices that included roast beef, swiss cheese, turkey, American cheese and ham. The other platter included Capicola, Mozzarella, Provolone, Salami, as well as other Italian delights. There was a fruit salad, potato salad and macaroni salad.
It was very important to me that I treated this day special for all the loved ones involved. All four of their names even made it to the cake! I am always afraid that I am not going to have enough food when I take on a task like this, so I have a tendency for going overboard.
