I can't believe that my last post was six days ago. Talk about time flying. My big joke after I retired was that I should get a fulltime job so that I could have more time for myself. I do volunteer at my church a lot. The picture above is me working at their food pantry. It is very rewarding knowing that you are helping people who can't afford to purchase food. However even knowing how many people we help, I know that there are plenty more that don't even know we are there.
I help out with many fundraisers, including our car show and our food tasting event. My main focus is on the children. I do a youth message every Sunday and run Sunday School and a soon to be announced nursery. The spiritual growth of the youth is my reward!
Keeping up with health situations is another fulltime job. Diabetes has made sure of that. It's not just the health. It is also the bills. I am constantly getting billed for procedures that are covered. Once I was eligible for Medicare, I enlisted the aid of a Senior Service because to find the right carrier you need a Philadelphia Lawyer. I found many helpful programs but many of the administrators for the doctors don't know how to use them.
Anyway, that is just part of the time that is taken up by activities or necessities. Sometimes, I feel like I just want to take my better half and fly to the other side of the world for awhile.
