The most constant thing that happens in my life as a crocheter that owns a business is getting orders for designs I've never tried out, and it's safe to say this is one of them.

I love remaking designs I've done before but it's different when it's something that I've never made, the thrill that comes when I'm figuring out how to make it and the excitement that sets in when I can't stop thinking about how my finished project is going to turn out.

As someone that finds it hard to stay interested in something, the fact that I've been a crocheter for the past 3 years is something that still baffles me, getting to make complex or simple designs, getting to try out new color palettes, trying out new patterns and even designing outfits of my own just makes the experience better.

When my client reached out we decided on the design she'll be picking and the color palette she'll prefer since the reference piece was in baby pink and dark rose pink.

When that was concluded I got to work, for some reason when I'm making this bra cup I prefer using a single crochet instead of a double crochet, it just looks better to me when it's that way.

After the cups were completed I got into the mesh part and honestly this is the part I've been looking forward to

please don't mind how the fit looks on my mannequin my client is a size 16 and I used a size 10 mannequin so it doesn't fit as much

I went with making the stitches and the round and round and round was really testing my patience 🥲(in king julians voice “when is it going to end”) but after a few rows I finally got a hang of it and just concentrated on my anime till my mesh steps were fully complete.

One of the things I loved about this piece is that lilac is slowly becoming one of my favorite colors (it looks so bright and fine) so my excitement wasn't just from making the outfit for my client but also because it was a color I admired so much.

I wish I could include the finishing touches I added to the images in this blog but I finished up really late and my client did an early pick up because she was travelling that same day. I'm just happy I even got to take pictures of this part.

The remaining rows were made in purple so it had a darker underline.

This gown came out really pretty and it gave the vibe we were going fit, I was waiting anxiously for her to try it out so I know if it looked good on her as well, when she tried it out she looked so happy and I finally relaxed 😌 Lilac on a dark skin is something that always eats 😌
