The Naija Shirt || Crochet Dual Colored Shirt

#needlework Working on this design was something new, the exact relaxation I needed after months of making and remaking and delivering lots of designs. In Crocheting there's usually no in-between when it comes to how you feel about a certain design, you either like it so much or it's just okay. Truth be told, this was one of the easy projects I got to do this year.  A little back story about this project, I had a client reach out to me. He wanted something that wasn't too much but just right and he needed to get this made for the independence day celebration in Nigeria (October 1st). I was nodding throughout the conversation but I don't think I've ever made this hexagon pattern before, it's just one of the things I knew how to make but never really tried it out, just knowledge that never got experimented.  Making it was actually easier than I thought, it was a new pattern so the excitement of trying out something new was intoxicating.  While I was sorting out color frequencies I was mostly daydreaming about the outcome of this outfit. And I hit a snag. I guess the excitement made me lose focus a bit there and I had to frog an entire portion of the white and start over the row, the right way.  That was the only issue I had, from there it was merry merry merry. This order was sent out to someone I hold in high regard so I wanted it to feel right just like he wanted. It took less than 3 days to get this done. I don't know if it was the excitement or how easy it was or the relaxation that came with it but yeah I got it done.  I changed my packaging so this order was one of the first few to launch the new packaging so forgive me if I felt happier than usual.  Delivery day came and I took the order to go deliver myself, which rarely happens but this was one of those exceptions. My uncle got it and immediately got to looking at the designs, how it was made and videocalling his wife and daughter to show them that I had it delivered and that they looked so good.  The composure I had sitting there and saying “ohhh, uncle thank you” when my head was a few seconds from popping because of the excitement, was it from him liking it or liking it enough to show it to his family, I don't know but there was something.  My new packaging comes with a care card so I had to explain the procedure to him so it maintains its shape just like he'd prefer. His reply was “so no sending this to the drycleaners” and I was like yeahhhhhhhh.  Altogether this is one of my best projects this year and I honestly can't wait to make a 2025 dump of the amazing designs I got to do for all my girlies and men.
