👩🏽🎨🪼🖌️🎨 Good morning, dear @AlienArtHive group. It is an honor to present a new work entitled “Ocean Dancer.” This work is inspired by the majesty of one of the most amazing, mysterious, and feared sea creatures that have been on our planet for more than 500 million years: jellyfish. These creatures are invertebrates, which means they have no spine or central nervous system. There are males and females, but the curious thing is that both can produce eggs and sperm, so they do not require a partner to reproduce; they can create new life asexually. It is truly impressive. I was captivated by the beauty of these creatures and their hypnotic way of moving in the cold waters of the Arctic or in warm tropical climates. They can be found in shallow waters as well as in great depths, in rivers, lakes, and oceans.

🪼🖌️🎨👩🏽🎨 My artwork focuses on highlighting the freedom with which they move, as their lightness facilitates movement due to their gelatinous bodies, which are transparent and display a variety of colors ranging from soft tones to vibrant shades of yellow, green, blue, and pink. Jellyfish are made up of more than 90% water, while the rest of their composition consists of nerve cells, proteins, and muscles. Their lightness allows them to float and swim mainly in a horizontal position, taking advantage of currents and countercurrents. However, they also have the ability to move vertically. Their movements are delicate, graceful, and harmonious, giving them an almost imperceptible presence in the water, where light scatters around them. By moving their bell, jellyfish create a movement in the water that helps them float and swim. Meanwhile, their tentacles assist them in feeding and defense, as their outer layer contains cells called cnidoblasts or cnidocytes, which have the ability to sting and inject venom; upon contact with their tentacles, these cells activate and release stingers along with venom. Encounters with these creatures are usually accidental, although they can be deadly. In my creation representing the jellyfish, my goal is to capture its hypnotic dance as it floats and swims, using bright colors to present it in a striking way and transcend the purely visible.

🪼🖌️🎨👩🏽🎨 As a reflection, I want us to understand that jellyfish are fundamental to the ocean ecosystem. They are essential for maintaining the health of the seas, as they form part of the food chain, acting as a source of sustenance for different marine species. Their presence in the ocean can also indicate changes in the ecosystem, such as the amount of nutrients and water quality. Today, unfortunately, due to human intervention, they face significant challenges, such as water pollution, overfishing, and climate change, which have directly or indirectly impacted their habitats and compromised their ability to reproduce. I want to conclude by expressing my gratitude for the support I have received. I hope you enjoy this artistic proposal. See you later.
