Way Back Sinulog sa Labugon: Throwbacks with my OG Team

Hello, Hivers! It’s me again, doughnahhh, back with another blog series! Today, I wanted to take you all on a little trip down my memory lane and share some special moments I had with my coworkers, and I think it was sometime around the month of February this year (this memory is a little bit fuzzy haha, but a happy one indeed). I’ve been missing them lately, and I thought this would be the perfect time to recap this one and I also have those beautiful memories we made together. There is something special and truly heartwarming about looking back on those little moments the laughter, the conversations we've had, and just the simple joy of being around the people who make work feel a lot less like, well. So in this post, I’ll be sharing with you all a few snapshots of those days. Be with me with these stories behind that I'll be sharing with them. Stay tuned, and maybe grab some coffee while you’re at it, because it’s going to be a cozy, nostalgic ride.  We are rushing to the venue and in order to arrive at the venue, we immediately look for a tricycle and because we were also already running late and so that we could save time, we decided to ride a tricycle as our transportation going to the venue. The venue was a little bit far from where we were and where the Sinulog sa Labogon event was held. We knew that riding a tricycle would be the fastest we could go there and the most practical way to get there, especially given this rush hour of ours and the urgency of the situation. We were all getting into the trycle and we were hoping we’d make it in time at the venue. The ride was a bit rushed, but we were all focused and minded positive on reaching the venue as soon as possible. I am together riding a tricycle at that time with the wife of the owner of our company and along also with me are some of my coworkers. Before we even entered the venue, something kind of funny and sweet happened. The wife of the husband who is the owner of our company yes you read it right. I know that it may sound like a riddle, but basically our boss wife showed up and had a little surprise, and we are very happy about it. Even though it is just a small thing though, we really appreciate it. She had bought a bunch of ripe juicy mangoes and she started handing them out to all of us. Seriously, each one of us got our own mango! It was such a random and very thoughtful gesture, and honestly, it kind of set the mood also for the starting of the parade it's like a welcoming for all of us hehe. We were all just standing there and eating the mangoes like it was a picnic even though it is a formal event.  After we finished, we finally made our way inside, which is the venue where the parade will going to start. And guess what? We were seated almost right at the front! That is because our company happened to be one of the major sponsors of that event hehe we are all so happy that we are right almost in the front so that we are able to see the show properly. So yeah we had a chance at great seats, and honestly, it was shaping up to be the event of a very pretty memorable day even before the program had officially started.   After a few minutes, the parade will about to start, so we are immediately getting ourselves ready. We are fixing our clothes and adjusting our banner, and after the announcement we are hiding in our designated place and making sure that everyone is in the right spot. There was an excitement in the air as the programme was about to begin. We started lining up, one by one should be in the right place in order in our assigned places. We are all rushing because the parade IS about to start any minute now, and if you were in our position at that time you could really feel the energy building up in each contingent. Everyone was buzzing with anticipation some were chatting and laughing as usual and the organisers were double-checking that everything was in place before we stepped off. It was almost go-time, and we were all set to make the parade and the showdown will start.    The parade has begun, and as you can see in the picture below and above we are all very joyful and cheerful at first. The music is so lively and how they rhyme it is nice to listen to. The contestant's attire is very colorful and captivating also and the audience is also full of excitement. If you were there you would see their happy faces and how they are excited. We/they shout, take some photos, and savor that moment. It feels like a party that we do not want to end. After approximately an hour of strolling and standing in the sun, we begin to feel exhausted. The excitement begins to wear off little by little as our feet ache and the heat intensifies it is so hot it is also the reason for our tiredness. We've walked four or five hours already! That's presumably why we all start to feel tired. Even while we're still enjoying the parade, the exhaustion is difficult to ignore.    That’s all for now my dear Hivers.
