My first time on Naiguatá Peak_20250727_215922_0000.png

Hello, friends of Hive, and especially the Throwback Thursday community! This is my first post in the community, and I want to share my experience from July 19, when I climbed Naiguatá Peak for the first time.

Climbing Naiguatá Peak was a goal I set last year, and this year I was able to achieve it. I was accompanied by my friend @leonatus, whom I must thank for joining me on this adventure. We climbed up and down on the same day, starting early at around 7 a.m. and finishing our descent by 6:30 p.m. It is worth mentioning that the first time I climbed Pico Avila and Lagunazo, I was also accompanied by @Leonatus.

This climb, apart from being significant for me because of its degree of difficulty and because it was a goal I had achieved, was quite beautiful because I was able to see some flowers and animals of various kinds. From the start of the hike, we encountered some peculiar birds that looked like turkeys and guacharacas. I saw some butterflies, unusual insects, and a snake that I didn't manage to photograph.

Unfortunately, my photos of the monkeys weren't very good, but I was truly fascinated at that moment. When we reached the summit, it was quite cloudy, which made it impossible to enjoy the impressive view from there, so I hope to have better luck with that next time. Still, we enjoyed beautiful landscapes and views along the way. ![IMG_20250719_160805_751@788369492.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/douglasdaniel/23wMRvJY5xcF8xzfDHHD6vkaV87h7mNQnVZ524x8NfLVoJ92JwY2mhGgYbsn9hkxLqzt4.jpg) ![IMG_20250719_160844_901@-853335754.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/douglasdaniel/23z79m5ausDNjVsbm5BirMtH8VmQMD6FsCbFfu56t8errx2F97KXt91gZ3HhzbgthwsND.jpg) Naiguatá Peak is the highest peak in the Ávila and the highest in the entire Venezuelan Caribbean mountain range. I must say that reaching it is an indescribable feeling and that the energy there is something we all deserve to experience, especially if you love hiking and if you love the majestic El Ávila mountain. Achieving this goal inspired me to want to climb higher peaks such as those in the Venezuelan Andes, especially Pico Bolívar in Mérida, Venezuela. ![IMG_20250719_111920_401@2131137098.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/douglasdaniel/241Zp2y9piM1C16wWegjxztodvMo1os2tyZRpWsB5ig1dMind1j1XcF82sobVTgDijpYp.jpg)
