The reflection on this teaching, we have thought about how the ancient people, especially the Egyptian and the Israelites, they were all early Christians, and how they treated the body of the Lord, of the ones when they are no more.

I realized how deeply this custom and how this reflects their faith, their respect, and how they understand life and death, but it only starts to be the emphasis that, burial was never just a gift. It was more spiritual, an emotional expression of love and hope.

In ancient times, the process of embalming was a way of preserving our body for the afterlife. This also symbolizes their belief in what we call continuity beyond death, similarly the Israelites also showed good care for.

Even in Genesis 15:26, where Joseph's body was unbound and placed in a coffin, it demonstrated both honor and remembrance. Even the Lord Jesus Christ, after the crucifixion, was buried following the Jewish custom of the time.

His body was wrapped and anointed with myrrh and aloes. This is a very important perspective that the practice of careful preparation shows that. It shows the pattern of civilization. When we recognize our body through our mother, we deserve respect. And we must honor the dead, even as their legacy lived on.

We have to be reminded that when we honor the dead, it's not merely just a cultural thing. It's more of a spiritual thing. It reflects love. It reflects honor. It reflects dignity. And this hope calls for resurrection in our life.
