During the times of chasing your dream, we sometimes confuse motivation for discipline and we tend to consider if both are required for success. Because motivation is good, it makes you feel energized, it pushes you to keep going. But motivation is very deceiving, if you depend on it only, it can cause a sort of delay in achieving your goal. When you discipline yourself on the other hand you can create consistency in your life and in the aspect of chasing your goal and you can guarantee progress.

Discipline has always been the backbone of every achievement or success in life, it is a game changer for that solid group that you're looking for discipline is just as a friend who shows up for you every day. During the hard moments moments you're feeling down, and also feeling high, it shows up making sure you're on track each day it doesn't want to care if you're tired or not or you're dealing with a setback, it just shows up for you this is the decision that you make.

When you have to sign off for that gym, even when you don't feel like it, you keep going and making sure you complete your session or you keep studying for hours instead of scoring through your phones this has manifested in my own life. A few years back I was set to improve my my skills on coding.

I was excited about the whole initiative, but soon this motivation began to wear off. I was getting tired. The codes were frustrating me and I wasn't getting that quick results. So the motivation that I had at first faded away. Now, what saved the whole day for me was discipline. Even though I felt like giving up, I had to commit to coding. So sometimes I set myself to focus on doing the work for at least 30 minutes every morning without excuses. Even if I'm tired.

Some days I feel like not showing up, but with time, all those consistent efforts turned out to be real. I made a huge progress in my pursuit. I had to beat some tangible projects and landed some few jobs after studies and gained confidence all this while I was still learning. And I must say, discipline was what brought me this far. I never knew I could achieve this. It sharpened my mindset. It broadened my experience. And it kept me on track.

Discipline for me always beat motivation, always. Day in, day out. It beats the habit that is unshakable. Motivation might just keep you started for a while and make you feel happy for that moment. But it does not structure into your habits. It's all discipline that does that. You don't need to wait for that right moment to keep acting. You just create a system by yourself. Then that makes success in turn inevitable.

It's not about those times you feel excited. It's about doing the right thing all the time. Sometimes it might struggle to wake up early to write or eat. Or even work on yourself or dash keys or your job. Especially when you're self-employed. But discipline helps you to stay on track.

If you are planning to chase this good, you have to make discipline your number one priority. It's not about getting motivated or getting energized all the time. It's about doing what is right. Even when it seems hard. Because those times is where the magic happens.
