The teaching of Bro Eli on Tithing. There has been a challenge about some misconception about whether it is the obligation of Christians to pay tithe.

From the old testament Bro Eli explained that title was then the divine commandment for the israelites in order to support the Levitical priest who by that time had no inheritance. It’s what got it from the book of Hebrews 7:5.

The levite received 10 percent from other tribes in order for them to sustain and this was known as a mosaic law. Brother Eli gave us an important shift when Christ came and he was the head of the priesthood. HEBREWS 7:12 revealed that there was a change in this priesthood. And there was a necessity to change the law also.

In the old testament where the levitical tithing system which was adopted by the Levitical preisthood but it no longer applies since Christ came. Instead give freely as believers. In 2 CORINTHIANS 11, this scripture emphasizes on believers giving voluntarily from our hearts not out of compulsion.

This teaching has liberated many Christians of today and this explanation by Brother Eli has showed to us that we should move beyond those rigid tithing principles and embrace giving cheerfully, selflessly and from our hearts. And we are called to align this action to Christ focusing on love and generosity and growing our faith.

We should give out of love and not out of tradition.
