How do you hear God's voice? These are three tips that helped me that I wish I knew sooner that helped me to learn his voice and how he speaks.

Read Your Bible In order to know that somebody's talking to you, if they don't speak in the traditional way, you have to kind of go based on what you know about them, right? And so if you don't have a relationship built with God, if you haven't drawn closer to him, if you haven't been reading his word, how can you learn about him and know who he is? If you text somebody, but you're not actually hearing their voice, if you talk to them enough, you know, oh, that's something they would say. Or, hey, who is this? That's not the person that I usually text on this number.

You can tell by their conversation and how they talk. You know what I mean? So you'll learn him. And as you learn him through reading his word, you learn more about something. Okay, this is something that God would say. This sounds like his word. It lines up with what his word says. Read your Bible. That is one of the best ways to learn his voice and to grow closer to him.

Two, start paying more attention to your thoughts. God speaks through our thoughts all the time, just like the enemy tries to speak to us through our thoughts. Just because you hear something and it sounds good and it sounds like you don't mean that it's necessarily you.

The Bible says all good and perfect things come from God. So any positive thought that you ever had, any good thought about self-esteem or about God's creation, though, it's him literally speaking to you through your thoughts and your mind because it's originating through him.

Tip number three, last but not least, start journaling. If you want to talk to God and you want to hear him talk back to you, start writing down. Like, I used to just start writing, hey, God, how are you today? Is there anything that you want to say to me? And I'll write his name and I'll put a colon, like it's a dialogue.

And I'll wait to see what's coming to my mind. And I'll just write down what's coming to my mind, write down what's coming to my mind. And I found that a lot of those things were really God speaking to me through my thoughts and I didn't realize it, but it lined up with his word, it lined up with his character. And if it doesn't line up with his word, it's not from him.

But as you do that, it helps me to identify, oh my gosh, in a normal day while I'm walking down the street, that's God talking to me right now. But I didn't realize it because I thought it was my own thoughts.
