I have always liked to deal with mechanics, and my Jeep is a special story, it has been in half of Serbia and it is still like new. I maintain all that.As the years go by and fuel prices skyrocket, it's time to make a change. After much thought, I decided to install a gas tank to reduce running costs without sacrificing power or reliability. The preparation was perhaps the longest part of the job. I cut the metal bars and supports to the exact dimensions, attached everything with screws and bolts, and then painted them to protect them from corrosion.
I carefully inspected the jeep, looking for the perfect mounting location. It's not easy for this type of vehicle – you need to find a space that won't interfere with driving, won't reduce the volume of the trunk, and of course, it has to be completely safe. After measuring and a few tests, I decided to mount it underneath. A very inaccessible place but with more space.I set it on the stand, leveled it, and started tightening it. I tightened each bolt evenly, using a torque wrench to ensure the correct torque. I worked carefully and very slowly. My wife had to help me a little to get the job done right.
After the physical installation, it was time to connect the installation. I had to carefully thread the rubber hoses and metal pipes leading to the motor, taking care not to touch any hot parts or places where damage could occur. Safety valves, filters, and measuring devices were installed to ensure the system worked flawlessly.
When I finished the assembly, it was time for testing. First I checked that all the valves were closed, then I released the gas under pressure and listened - I was looking for the slightest sign of a leak. There was nothing - everything was tight and secure.
I got behind the wheel, turned the key, and the engine started without a problem. I put the accelerator on and listened to the engine. The sound was smooth, without jerks, just right. I was satisfied.I am usually extremely meticulous and careful when doing something and I like it to be done the best. I hope you liked my post. I was looking for a community where I could publish similar posts and I couldn't find one. I hope you won't have any problems. Enjoy everyone
