Hello everyone! Today is the day when I pick what is ripe in my garden. Harvesting in my garden and is always a special experience. That moment when the fruits ripen is the crowning glory of my efforts throughout the year. Every leaf, every branch and in my yard bears the mark of my work and attention, which is why I experience the harvest with great excitement and satisfaction. I think you feel the same way.
I start with the vegetable garden. Tomatoes, red and juicy, I carefully choose the ripest ones, put them in the basket and already feel that they will make the most beautiful salad. Zucchini are also ready to pick. The smaller ones are the tastiest, so I choose them, while leaving a few larger ones for filling. Peppers produced well this year, there are a variety of them: red, green, yellow, and even a few hot ones
I can't skip the cucumbers either. I usually find them hidden under the leaves and pick the smallest ones to put in jars. The green beans have produced a lot, I have several varieties and they are the hardest for me to pick. My wife usually picks them. A little corn for cooking and baking.
I planted a little onion, but that's enough when there's some. The hot peppers from the plastic containers brought their second crop, so we harvested them too.
Also some red potatoes, which we especially love in a stir-fry.
Other vegetables have to wait, like cabbage, cauliflower, eggplant...At the end of the day, when I fill my baskets with vegetables and I feel tired, but also satisfied. I imagine the winter that will come – jars of ajvar, jams, juices, and pickles. We roasted and peeled the peppers the same day. We left them overnight to drain and the next day we ground them and cooked our most famous specialty AJVAR.
I hope you liked my post. Have a nice day everyone
