Hello everyone! Being a mother is never easy, but it is always full of love. Every moment with my daughter, Morning Belle, is a reminder but motherhood is about sacrifice, creativity and unconditional joy. Just recently, we celebrated her 3rd birthday and I want tos hare our simple meaningful experience.
This birthday was a little different because Morning had been saving up her own money. From the small gifts given her Grandparents, Aunt and Godparents, she was able to collect around 3,500.00 in her coin bank. She was so proud when she opened her savings, and as her mother, I felt happy that in a young age she was already learning the value of saving. I always want her to understand that even small amounts, when put together, can help us in special moments like this.
After she opened her coin bank, we went to the city to buy her birthday cake. Morning’s only wish was to have a mermaid cake. But since the designs we found were a little experience and not really within our budget. I had to think of another way. As a mother, I know that sometimes we need to be creative. So, I bought a simple cake and then printed out mermaid character to decorate it. The result was still a happy ‘mermaid cake’ for her and she loved it with all heart. Seeing her smile made all the effort worth it.
We also prepared a simple celebration at home. We decorated our farm house with simple design so she could feel that if was truly her special day. For the food, we just cooked what we had. We gifted from our backyard poultry and added some simple dishes for everyone to enjoy. It wasn’t grand, But it was filled with love.
What made the day even more special was that her lolo ad lola came, along with her titas and other family members. It was a small family gathering, but it was complete with laughter, stories and love. Morning was running a round, so happy to see everyone together. She kept telling me how much she loved her mermaid cake and her birthday.
As a mother, this moment taught me once again that celebrations don’t have to be expensive. What matters most is the effort, presence of the family, and the happiness of our children. I am also proud that Morning is starting to learn about saving money. Even though she is still very young, she is beginning to understand that saving is important for future occasions, especially birthdays.
At the end of the day, I looked at my daughter happy and I knows was very happy. That is the greatest gift for me as her mother. No matter how simple the celebration was, her joy was priceless.
