Yesterday was the birthday of my sister-in-law, Ate Cheryl. My husband and her husband are siblings, so it’s a special day when we celebrate together. She already had a birthday lunch at her office. But she still wanted us to gather for a simple celebration at home.
Since Ate Cheryl and her husband do not have kids yet, they really love and care for my little one. They treat my child like their own, always giving hugs, attention and even gifts. Sometimes I think my child is spoiled because whatever they want to buy for her, they really do! But I am grateful for the love and care they give. We kept the celebration simple but fun. My in-laws have many animals, chicken, turkeys and ducks at home, so we just caught some to cook. For the budget friendly menu, I was assigned to grill the barbecue. My in-laws were all busy doing their own task, but we worked together like a team.
My little one was super happy when we caught the chicken and duck for cooking! She was the most excited about the birthday, cheering and laughing while we prepared everything. Honestly, she gets excited about any birthday celebration in our family always ready for the fun and will sing a birthday song.
Here’s what we had for food, Fruit salad, adobong duck, adobong chicken, fish soup and lots of barbecue and mango. Everything was so delicious! While eating we shared stories and laughed together. Our topic was about affiliate marketing and selling products online. It was fun to share ideas while enjoying the food.
The men of course, had their own bonding time outside the house. They were drinking and laughing loudly, which added to the happy atmosphere of the evening.
For me, Ate Cheryl is more than just a sister-in-law, she is my best friend here on the farm. From the first day we stayed here, she has always been close to me. If I need to buy something from the city, I just send her the money because she works there. When I need someone to watch my child, she willingly comes to help without me even asking. I truly appreciate everything she does.
Last night was a beautiful reminder that celebrations don’t need to be fancy. What matters is the togetherness, laughter and love we share as a family. I feel so lucky to have Ate Cheryl in my life.
My wish for her: Wishing her a wonderful year ahead filled with love, laughter and blessings. She has been such a caring sister-in-law and a true friend to me, and I am so thankful for everything she for my family. May this new chapter of her life bring so much happiness and unforgettable memories. I’m so excited to their upcoming 10th wedding anniversary, what an amazing milestone to celebrate1 May their marriage continue to grow stronger and more joyful with each other passing year.
