Hello everyone! I want to share with you a very special and happy moment, the 7th birthday of my niece, Verby!
As her aunt, I always want the best for her. She is very close to my heart. Since I was still single and working. I used to spoil her with gifts and surprises every time I went home. I would bring her clothes and toys. And when it’s her birthday, I feel more excited than her own parents.
She turned 7 years old, and we chose a mermaid theme for her special day. It was simple but full of effort, love and family support.
Since we wanted to celebrate her birthday but still stay within the budget, I decided to make a DIY backdrop decoration, I used my own fabrics at home to make the background beautiful. The only thing we bought was the balloons to add some color and fun.
I also designed and laid out the tarpaulin using Canva. I’m proud to say it turned out very nice, and we saved a lot of money too!
Even though it was not a big party, everything looked colorful and happy because of our efforts and teamwork.
The food we prepared was simple but delicious. We grilled some chicken, made a homemade dessert and of course there was a beautiful cake, lovingly bought by my mother for her beloved granddaughter.
We didn’t need an expensive menu. What made it special was that we all sat down and eat together as one big family. That’s what truly matters, not the amount of food, but the joy of being together.
One thing I’m very happy about is Verby’s mermaid birthday outfit. Would you believe I bought it from the ukay ukay/ thift store for only 50 pesos? Yes, 50 pesos but it looked so nice on her! She wore it proudly and looked like a little mermaid princess.
Sometimes. It’s not about the price of things, it’s about how much love and thought you put into them. I’m so happy she felt beautiful and special on her day. The best part pf the celebration was that our whole family was complete. Everyone was there, laughing, talking and celebrating together. It’s not every day that we are all free and present, so this made the day even more meaningful.
Even if it was a simple birthday, it became one of the most memorable days for all of us, especially for our Verby.
