Greetings, ASEAN Hivers! Here I am to share my entry for Week #177, and this challenge is all about “HELLO YELLOW!” When I learned about this week challenge, the first thing that came to my mind was the golden color of our rice fields, yellow is not only the color of sunshine but also the color of hard work, patience and blessing. It reminds me of the farmers who work under the bright sun to bring food to our table.

This morning, I visited our farm during the rice harvest. The entire field was filled with beautiful yellow grains ready to be gathered. Even though my husband wasn’t in the picture, he was there earlier, helping the workers and checking the machines, He’s one of the most hardworking farmers I know, same with my father, and I’m always proud of him.

Both my family and my husband’s family have strong farming roots. We are truly a family of farmers, from generation to generation, the love for the land runs in our blood. Farming has always been part of our lives, teaching us to be patient, grateful and humble. Every harvest season is a reminder that hard work and faith always bring rewards even when the challenges are big.

During my visit, I brought snacks and cold drinks for the laborers and the harvester operators. The sun was already high and they were sweating, but their smiles were bright as they took a short break. Sharing simple food together under the shade made me realize how important community and teamwork are in every harvest. Those small moments, laughter, simple meals and stories, make the hard work worth it.

I also remember when our harvester was new. My husband taught me how to drive it, and that experience made me understand more deeply what farmers go through every day. Its not easy, but its fulfilling.

Right now, the price of palay or fresh rice here is only 14 pesos per kilo or 1.5 hp more or less, which is sad for many farmers. Despite that, we continue planting because its better to have something to harvest than nothing at all. Framing is not just about income, its about love for the land and hope for the next season.

Through this Hello Yellow challenge, I dedicate my post to all farmers – especially to our families, who keep our fields alive with golden blessings and endless effort! 💛
